Since getting on the decks for the first time in 2001 Nick Ronin has gained a reputation across London for always giving what’s required musically; be it perfectly tuned warm-up sets, peaktime bangers or late-night mindfuckery.
Nick’s tastes remain as varied as they always have been. His favoured sound these days is definitely that of the jackin’ House gods like Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Justin Long & Jesse Rose but never being one to pigeon-hole himself; you can expect a whole lot more besides.
It was after starting up Sublime with James Lewis in 2002 that people began to sit up and take notice of Nick’s skills. That became the now infamous DirtyGroove in 2004 and residencies for Lather Rinse Repeat, Jackin’ and Electric Boogaloo have since followed with crowds at all of them experiencing his unmistakeable talent and infectious energy.
2005 was when things really stepped up a gear for Nick as he played gigs all over London supporting DJs such as Jon Carter, King Roc, Soul Avengerz & Hoxton Whores. That was followed up with milestones in 2006 including bookings alongside Carl Cox, Mr C, Tim Sheridan & Mike Monday plus debuting in Ibiza. Nick also won the London final of the Networking Central DJ Competition and lined up against the cream of the nation in the National Final. 2007 promised to be his most exciting yet with gigs including support for Roger Sanchez and an open-air festival in Ibiza in front of over 1000 people not to mention debuting at Ministry Of Sound in support of Moby & Sebastian Ingrosso.
Having already supported Tommy Four Seven, Trevor Loveys and Alex Metric this year; 2008 is there for the taking…..
